His books weave light LitRPG System mechanics with near-future science fiction and deeply personal character arcs. At their heart, they’re about growth: leveling up, pushing past limits, and finding out whether humanity is truly ready for the power it has always dreamed of obtaining.

His five-book series, The Ascension Framework, blends near-future science fiction, progression, and light System mechanics as humanity faces an alien incursion and a future it never expected.

The Drunken System takes a less sober approach. When an alien crew discovers Earth’s alcohol culture, their carefully planned System rollout becomes an eight-billion-person tutorial riddled with hasty decisions. The first book, The Drunken System - An Inebriated LitRPG Fiasco, launches the new series, chock full of chaotic adventures.

Lucent is also the author of Cardinal Velocity, a fast-paced LitRPG thriller following three versions of the same man across three universes: a Navy SEAL, a major league pitcher, and a cybersecurity expert. All three enter the System at once, and each must grow strong enough for what’s coming.

After a career in steel industry sales, Lucent lives in Michigan with his wife, their dog Minnie, and their cat Kiki.
