Before becoming an author, Loraline Bradern was above all deeply curious about the world. Reading and writing shaped her childhood: as an only child and a highly sensitive person, she found refuge and limitless imagination in books from a very young age. Novels were her most faithful companions during adolescence—a bulwark against loneliness and bullying, and a catalyst for emotions and dreams.
Passionate about history—a legacy from her mother—and fascinated by the military world—a passion passed down by her father—she became a devoted reader of historical and romantic suspense novels. However, it was following the sudden loss of part of her family that writing took a central place in her life. Keeping a promise made to her mother shortly before her passing, Loraline sought refuge in words to survive, heal her wounds, and bring meaning back to her world. From this vital need, the sagas Combat d’Amour (medieval romance) and Unité d’Élite (military romance) were born. They were quickly discovered on the Wattpad platform and published by BMR-Hachette and ADA Editions, marking the beginning of her publishing journey.
A teacher by training with a passion for learning, Loraline developed a keen interest in research, which she places at the heart of her writing process. She classifies her works as documented romances: stories where rigorous detail heightens emotion, and where every character, context, and profession is described with exacting realism. Whether it involves the military world, high-level sports, bygone eras, or contemporary dramas, she is committed to bringing to life credible, embodied, and deeply human love stories.
Her literary universe moves between historical, military, sports, and emotion-driven romance, blending action, suspense, and tenderness. Convinced that realistic details fuel the power of emotions, she devotes as much time to research as she does to writing. Her characters, always nuanced, complex, and sincere, carry scars, contradictions, and a moving humanity. For her, "Nothing in life is ever purely black or white," and it is this realism of the heart that she strives to translate into each of her novels.
