LISA STEELE is an author, 5th generation chicken keeper, media personality, and founder of the popular Fresh Eggs Daily brand. She initially learned to cook for her Girl Scout badge, which led to a childhood of cutting recipes out of magazines and gluing them onto index cards (some of which she still has!). She later moved onto watching PBS and the Food Network's legacy cooking shows to learn proper technique, and currently holds a Recipe Development Certificate from Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School.
Lisa is the author of The Fresh Eggs Daily Cookbook (HarperCollins, 2022) which features more than 100 of her favorite egg recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert. Her debut cookbook was named an Amazon Editor's Pick Cookbook of the Month and received a Publishers Weekly starred review and an Honorable Mention in the Readable Feast awards.
Lisa's second cookbook In Season (HarperCollins, 2026) celebrates fresh, seasonal produce and eggs in more than 125 recipes that are bright, vibrant, and packed with flavor. She is currently working on her third cookbook.
Lisa has appeared on NPR's Here & Now, Martha Knows Best on HGTV, and the Hallmark Home & Family Show, and been featured on Dr. Oz and The View, as well as in print in the New York Times, Food & Wine, The Farmers Almanac, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Fox News, CNN, Parade, Woman's World, The Spruce Eats, The Splendid Table, and Martha dot com.
Lisa currently lives on a small farm in the Maine woods with her husband, their two corgis, and flock of chickens, ducks, and geese where she produces and hosts the award-winning television show "Welcome to my Farm" on CreateTV/PBS. Welcome to my Farm also airs on more than 300 PBS stations nationwide and on New Zealand and Australia public television. She has also written 7 popular books on raising backyard flocks.
