Lisa Gay Nichols is a certified life coach who helps moms resolve conflict with their teenagers and have peace in their homes. As a parent of a former difficult teen, Lisa brings deep understanding and insightful strategies to her role in helping parents navigate the exhausting emotions and decisions involved in raising teenagers. When dealing with her teenage son, Lisa followed the advice of many experts, including schools, doctors, and experts in parenting difficult teens, on how to "fix" her teen. What was missing was the support and coaching for her, as the mom, by someone who had been through it. She has become the resource she would have liked to have had for the parents who are currently struggling to keep their teens safe and on track. Lisa became certified as an Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) and Matrix Reimprinting Practitioner. Now, she coaches moms (and dads) through their toughest parenting challenges and uses EFT tapping to help them release emotional triggers and beliefs that keep them at odds with their teenager and constantly feeling triggered. Lisa was born in California, where she has lived her entire life except when she attended graduate school at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has a BS in journalism from Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo and an MS in Agricultural Journalism from UW-Madison. She is the bestselling author of the parenting books Crazy Little Thing Called Teens and Surviving Your Out-of-Control Teen. Lisa enjoys spending time with her family, friends and three cats, volunteering, traveling and wine tasting in Northern California, especially for her husband’s winery.
