Lisa Frieden grew up in California, with a side trip around the world when she was young, college in Cambridge, and grad school in Santa Barbara. Between current careers as wife and mom, she writes. Her books defy strict genre-jackets, which can in part be explained by the fact that her favorite authors range from Toni Morrison, Ruth Ozeki, Kurt Vonnegut, and Virginia Woolf all the way to Linda Howard and Jayne Anne Krentz.
