Linda Palmer (who also writes "culinary" mysteries for Berkley Prime Crime using the pen name Melinda Wells), was born in Georgia, grew up in Florida and moved to New York City to become a playwright. Learning that she wrote bad plays, she went to East Africa and became a successful wild life photographer. Returning to America, she earned her living photographing children and families and began to write again. She has written for televion, for the screen, and became a production vice president of TriStar Pictures. Finally, she found her true creative love: writing mystery novels. She published four as Linda Palmer, and is currently writing a second series of mysteries as Melinda Wells. She lives in California. In addition to writing mystery novels, Linda Palmer teaches novel-writing in the UCLA Extension Writers Program. Writing as Melinda Wells, her culinary mysteries are: KILLER MOUSSE (published in 2008), DEATH TAKES THE CAKE (2009), THE PROOF IS IN THE PUDDING (2010).
