Lightning N Mitchell born in Hodge Louisiana in 1948. Graduated from high school in 1968 drafted to go to Vietnam veteran 1969, I am the Founder of (WBA) "Women's Basketball Association" form 1991 to 1995. WBA Forerunners of the WNBA. In an era when women had to go overseas to pursue their dream of playing professional basketball after college, God gave me a vision. My vision was to create a professional league for women right here in the United States. A league where women could play their "natural game" and still be close to friends and loved ones. There would be hurdles to overcome; struggles that would seems overwhelming; doubts that would be ever pressing and lead to questions as to whether this idea would ever become a reality or not. This is the story of where I was willing to lean into the whispering vioce of God.
