LEVISON WOOD is a British explorer, bestselling author, photographer and documentary maker. A former officer in the Parachute Regiment, he has travelled and filmed in more than 100 countries, completing major expeditions along the Nile, across the Himalayas and Central America, through the Caucasus and around the Arabian Peninsula. His journeys have become internationally broadcast television series for Channel 4, Discovery and other networks. Levison is the author of bestselling books including Walking the Nile, Walking the Americas (both Sunday Times bestsellers) and Walking the Himalayas (Adventure Travel Book of the Year at the Edward Stanford Travel Writing Awards). Alongside exploration, Levison's work focuses on human stories, history, conservation and the relationship between people and the landscapes they inhabit. He is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and International Fellow of The Explorers Club, a UNICEF UK Ambassador and Chancellor of the University of Staffordshire.
