Leonard Sekyonda is the CEO of MYCOMEUP.com, a social matching platform connecting entrepreneurs, freelancers and creatives, and the author of Become Your Own Hero in which he recalls his journey from failure to success and proves how embracing isolation and self-doubt led him to rediscover his confidence. After dropping out of college, Leonard landed a job finding rental opportunities and generating clients for a real estate agent. As an intern, he learned of an interesting opportunity in the Philippines - scouting local nurses to fill vacant positions in the UK. On a whim, he left for the other side of the world and started a new company in Southeast Asia. Though an exciting period in his life, Leonard’s isolation inspired him to share his story online – and he created the MYCOMEUP blog. Telling a story people around the world could relate to, Leonard quickly built a following of people who not only wanted his practical business advice but also tips on mindset and motivation. Having engaged a global audience with his writing, Leonard was inspired to write Become Your Own Hero to teach those in a position he was once in how to re-create and re-discover themselves to progress, succeed and get back in the driver’s seat of their own journey. As the CEO of MYCOMEUP.com, Leonard uses his journey that began with his battle with self-acceptance to success to inspire young entrepreneurs looking to understand their own value in the world and tailor their purpose to their paradigm.
