Larry Jacobson Biography A California native, circumnavigator Larry Jacobson grew up on the beaches of the Pacific Ocean sailing, kayaking, and swimming. With degrees from the University of California Irvine and Berkeley, his entrepreneurial and adventurous spirit flourished as he started an adventure travel company leading whitewater-rafting explorations on then-unchartered rivers in New Zealand. Larry’s career in travel blossomed as the industry began its hyper-growth. From salesman to CEO, he led his newly founded company on a fast pace to success. After 20 years as an industry leader, he made the difficult decision to leave the business world to pursue his lifetime dream of sailing around the world. His expertise as an entrepreneur shines in Navigating Entrepreneurship. And he inspires children to achieve and be grateful in his new children’s book, Let’s Go! The account of his adventures at sea is now published in the Award-winning best seller, The Boy Behind the Gate. During his six-year odyssey, Larry and his crew faced many surprise challenges, learned the true meaning of perseverance, and experienced first-hand why so few people who set sail to circumnavigate actually complete the arduous journey.
