An author, lawyer, and legal writing professor, L. M. Lilly founded WritingAsASecondCareer.com to help writers juggling other full-time careers or pursuits. Her non-fiction includes The One-Year Novelist: A Week-By-Week Guide To Writing Your Novel In One Year; Creating Compelling Characters From The Inside Out; and Super Simple Story Structure: A Quick Guide to Plotting & Writing Your Novel, among other books for writers. Writing as Lisa M. Lilly, she is the author of the Q.C. Davis detective mystery series and the best selling four-book Awakening supernatural thriller series as well as the standalone gothic horror novel When Darkness Falls. She also wrote the short-story collection The Tower Formerly Known as Sears and Two Other Tales of Urban Horror, the title story of which was made into the short film Willis Tower. A resident of Chicago, Lilly is a member and past officer of the Alliance Against Intoxicated Motorists. She joined AAIM after an intoxicated driver caused the deaths of her parents in 2007. Her book of essays, Standing in Traffic, is available on AAIM’s website.
