International Bestselling Author of Florida Retirement Is Murder – Award-Winning Artist, Screenwriter & Survivor

Kris Courtney, born in Indiana, USA, entered the world with congenital disabilities that imposed immediate physical and emotional burdens. From his earliest memories, artistic expression became a refuge—a way to escape isolation, surgical interventions, and the relentless pursuit of "normalcy" in a society unyielding to difference. As a child, he penned his first page of writing at age 12, scribbling tales of hope amid pain, laying the groundwork for a lifetime of storytelling that would later define his career as an international bestselling author and award-winning American artist.

Growing up in the Midwest's heartland, Kris Courtney's formative years were marked by a profound awareness of human fragility. Diagnosed with conditions requiring multiple surgeries, he navigated a childhood shadowed by medical procedures and societal judgment. Yet, these trials forged an unshakeable spirit. "I just try to stay alive and write about it," Courtney reflects, a mantra echoing through his memoir Norma Jean’s Sun: True Story - This poignant narrative, drawn from family secrets and the "carrier unknown," explores generational choices and their imposing consequences, earning praise for its "brave honesty" and "touching story full of hope." Infused with disability awareness—a theme woven into his art and writing—Courtney's early experiences instilled a commitment to benevolence, transforming personal pain into universal narratives of perseverance.

Award-Winning Visual Artist: 25 Years of Primitive Literalism & Global Exhibitions

Launched on New Year's Eve 2022, Florida Retirement Is Murder exploded as an international bestseller, topping cozy mystery charts in USA, Canada, UK, and Australia. This flagship of the Florida Snowbird Comedy Mystery Series follows widower Stewart Johnson, who trades grief for golf-cart sleuthing in a Lakeland gated community. Described as "Janet Evanovich meets Carl Hiaasen in a retirement village," it won Best Cozy Mystery Team 2023 for its audiobook (narrated by Mari Oyaizu Carson). CAA 'Creative Arts Agency' has already query for the FILM / TV rights!
