After being reborn in a laser-filled courtyard in Hackney in 1989, Kirk Field has blazed a trail in the UK dance music world for 35+ years as a promoter, performer, (almost) pop star and clubbing travel pioneer. His thoughts have appeared in Mixmag, DJ Magazine, Time Out, Ministry and (ironically) The Sun. His first book, 'rave new world: Confessions of a Raving Reporter (Nine Eight), won an ARIA award for 'Audiobook of the Year' in 2024 and has been the UK’s most popular book on rave culture, mixing history, hedonism with humour. In 1999 he set up the world’s first holiday company catering exclusively for clubbers and has taken over 10,000 people on holiday to Ibiza alone. His (mis)adventures fuel "planes, trains & amphetamines: Clubbing Holiday Confessions (Velocity Press). His unique one-man spoken word show has appeared at Glastonbury Festival, Edinburgh Fringe and in UK theatres and reflect the humour and unflinchingly honesty found in his books.
