Kimberly Layne is a Leadership Development Consultant, an Employee Engagement Partner, and Host of the Power of Connection in Biz Show on YouTube. She is also a Professional Speaker, and Author of Connections Change Everything, released ironically just before the Pandemic. As a previous Top Sales Executive for Fortune 100 Companies such as Boston Scientific, United Healthcare, and Genpact, she has witnessed the power of relationships and connections not only in driving sales, but also in motivating and retaining employees. Seeing and experiencing how poor leadership affects our happiness and productivity at work, she was inspired to write this book. Now in this increasingly digital and virtual economy, she is passionate about reversing the Isolation Epidemic not only as public health risk but also as costly business risk to both employee and customer retention. At the Kimberly Connection Company (KCC), she works with Leaders at all Levels and organizations who realize that good Leaders and Leadership are the single most important factor as to whether an employee stays or go. We have to be better at the “soft stuff” in order to make the “hard stuff” work in this volatile, and uncertain world. Kimberly incorporates her books messages along with statistics and enlightening content in her profesional talks on "The Isolation Epidemic, is Your Business Ready for the Impact?" Kimberly has a BBA from Kent State University Honors College and an MBA from John Carroll University graduating summa cum laude in both. Kimberly is also pursuing a PHD in Psychology at Pepperdine, is an Internationally Certified Professional Coach. In addition to her own company, The Kimberly Connection Company, she is on the Executive Next Practices Advisory Board, and a Practice Leader for Nextworks Strategies. On a personal note, she loves playing tennis, has an adorable Shih Tzu named “Happy Sammy,” and she is an avid baker of Liquor infused Italian Mascarpone Cheesecakes. As our digitally reliant environment is not going away, Kimberly hopes her book encourages Leaders to become "Connected and Conscious Leaders," and for all of us to put in the extra effort when possible, to choose true human connection over digital interactions.
