Kevin Barnett, Sr is a native of East Orange, New Jersey. He is a Retired Army Veteran with tours in Afghanistan, Germany, and many stateside tours during his career. Kevin earned a Master of Science degree in Information Management Technology with distinction. Kevin is a motivational speaker for middle & high school students and also for adults who are or have been navigating the foster care/adoption systems. “LIVING MY SHADOWS: DREAMS DO COME TRUE” book details the story of Kevin’s journey through the foster care and adoption system as a preteen, Army career and culmination of a lifelong dream: finding his biological parents, siblings and bringing both his adopted and biological families together. His story of abuse and mistreatment during his years in foster care then later being adopted by a wonderful family “The Barnett Family”. This book also details Kevin’s Army career, a late-in-life choice that taught him discipline and honed the patience he needed during his 30+ years search for his birth family. Kevin’s experiences are a life lesson in the power of perseverance, patience and the belief that dreams do come true
