Stories of courage, consequence, family, and the people history nearly forgot.

Ken Merrell considers himself a storyteller more than an author. His stories range from contemporary suspense to historical fiction, but they share a common thread: ordinary people confronted by circumstances that demand extraordinary courage.

Drawing on more than four decades as an entrepreneur and general engineering contractor, as well as time spent assisting law enforcement on undercover assignments, Ken brings a practical understanding of people, risk, consequence, and resilience to his fiction.

His debut novel, The Landlord, was Cedar Fort Publishing's number-one bestseller for nearly six months, with more than 100,000 copies in print. The Landlord and The Identity Check later found tens of thousands of additional readers online. His published novels also include The Catcher, Of Craven Dawn, and Petticoats and Ash.

His forthcoming novels, Petticoats and a Traitor's Death and Petticoats and the Ferryman's Ledger, continue his Petticoats series—stories that step into history through the lives of strong women whose courage might otherwise have been forgotten.

Ken lives in Utah with his wife, Mary, surrounded by the family that remains at the center of his life. After decades of building businesses, raising a family, and collecting more stories than he could ever tell, he continues to write about courage, loyalty, sacrifice, and what people are capable of when life asks more of them than they expected to give.
