Welcome to my Amazon Author page. In my book RULEBREAKERS AND GHOST RUNNERS I share the untold stories of British women who challenged the status quo, ran in men's long-distance races, breaking the rules in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.

I started running at 47 and soon got hooked. Three years later, I created RunYoung50, a blog where I publish my interviews with female runners over 50, celebrating their achievements. I soon became interested in the history of women's road running and heard about the American women who "crashed" men's races. I asked myself, 'Did this happen in the UK?' And I made it my mission to find out.

It's been quite a journey - collecting hundreds of athletics and running magazines, searching in newspaper archives, reading books (my bookcases are now double stacked!), visiting archives, and, most importantly, interviewing women who broke the rules and people who knew them. All the time I was driven by the belief that these remarkable women deserved to be better known, honoured and recognised for their important contribution to opening up running for all women.
