Kathleen Ricard is a self-declared wannabe writer of fiction and nonfiction. Born and raised in Thompson, Manitoba, her writing dreams sprouted somewhere between snowbanks and spruce trees. She eventually followed her heart (and maybe a tractor or two) to the prairies, where she put down deep alfalfa roots, raised a family, and manages a buzzing workforce of leaf-cutter bees on a small farm in southeast Saskatchewan. After many years of wrangling words for the provincial government honing her skills as a technical writer, she finally retired and has more than willingly traded reports for rough drafts—and loving (almost) every minute of it.
