Kathleen Ryan was born into a Navy family and, after living in the US and abroad, her family settled in San Diego after her father retired. She was educated at UC Berkeley (BA) and USC (MPA). During her career as a consultant she helped to produce a national award-winning workplace film on sexual harassment and her first book, "Driving Fear Out of the Workplace," was named Book of the Year for the Society for Human Resource Management. Kathleen has been an Organization Development consultant and Executive Coach since 1982. She works with her husband, Bud Orr, in their Seattle based consulting practice--the Orion Partnership. She has been identified as "an organizational consultant with an instinct for translating complex human behavior into practical concepts." Kathleen's third book, a collaboration with Geoff Bellman entitled "Extraordinary Groups: How Ordinary Teams Achieve Amazing Results," was published in October 2009. She serves on the board of the Organization Systems Renewal graduate program at Seattle University and is a co-founder of the Community Consulting Partnership.
