Kate Fitzroy has always travelled as much in imagination as by map. Right now she writes from a Victorian flint cottage in Newmarket, where the morning begins with the sound of racehorses passing below her window. When she's not writing, she's usually travelling, exploring the places that find their way into her next story, usually in Provence or Italy. She has loved living in both countries and knows the very best places to be. Her novels reflect her life, blending mystery, history, art and romance… she has also been known to suddenly abandon sensible plans in pursuit of a twist in the plot.
