About the Author Karen Shughart is the author of the Edmund DeCleryk mysteries with a cozy vibe (Silver Waters Press).Follow the retired Lighthouse Cove police chief turned criminal consultant and his wife, Annie, head of the local historical society and museum, as they solve work to solve crimes occurring right under their noses in this quaint village on Lake Ontario in the Finger Lakes region of New York. Each standalone book in the series includes a historical back story with links to Canada and England and clues that help unravel pieces of the puzzle to reveal the murderer. Annie likes to cook and shares her recipes at the end of each book. Karen is also the author an Ed and Annie short story, The White Deer, a co-author of two additional mysteries (Cozy Cat Press), and the author of two non-fiction books. She is a member of FLARE (Finger Lakes Authors and Readers Exchange). Murder at Freedom Hill, book three in the series, received a Firebird Book Award for best mystery in 2023, and the third-place award for fiction.
