Karen Molenaar Terrell enjoys tromping around in the mountains (she's made it to the summits of Rainier, Baker, Adams, and Hood), gardening, singing, and using her writing and photography to share with others the beauty and joy she sees around her. She's the author of the *Adventures with Dad* series, the *Madcap Christian Scientist series*, the *Cosmic Celebrations* series, *Scrapbook of a Year and a Day*, and several books of poetry. Her stories have appeared in Newsweek, The Christian Science Monitor, and Pack and Paddle Magazine, and her photos appear regularly in the "Photos from the Field" section of *Mother Earth News* and were featured in the spring 2014 edition of the *Bellingham Review*. Karen graduated from Washington State University where she studied history and education. She holds an MS in *Literacy in the Content Areas: Grades 6-12* from Walden University, and spent more than three decades as a teacher. She has two grown sons, an amazing daughter-in-law, and a new granddaughter, and lives with her husband, Scott, in the Pacific Northwest.
