Having always had a curiosity for how the world works, I was particularly interested in science and after completing my formal school years, I chose to pursue a BSc. in Cancer Biology and Immunology at the University of Bristol, UK. Following my graduation in 2007, I then started my career at Covance Inc. based in Harrogate, UK where I started as a junior experimental officer. After working several years there, gradually gaining an understanding of how the contract research organisation industry functions, I then moved on in 2012 to work for MedImmune (brand now retired in favour of AstraZeneca) based in Cambridge, UK. Whilst working at this biologics company I was able to learn a lot more about the drug discovery and development process and how all the different functions collaborate. Then in 2016 I moved to Oxfordshire to work for Eurofins Pharma Bionalytical Services (another contract research organisation) for a year before moving to Immunocore, a biotechnology company also based in Oxfordshire, where I am currently a senior scientist within the bioanalytical department.
