Julie Orringer is the award-winning author of the novel Luna, Phoenix, Queen, as well as of three other works of fiction: How to Breathe Underwater, The Invisible Bridge, and The Flight Portfolio, which was the basis for the Netflix series Transatlantic. She has received fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, the Cullman Center at the New York Public Library, the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard, the National Endowment for the Arts, MacDowell, Yaddo, and the Hermitage Artists’ Residency. She teaches at NYU, Stanford, and Brooklyn College, and she lives in Brooklyn with her husband, the writer Ryan Harty.
