The Beast Keepers is my first novel and I am delighted to announce that it was a finalist in the The Wishing Shelf Book Awards in the UK, as well as being a finalist in the 2023 SPR Book Awards. It was also nominated for an Eric Hoffer Award, an Ohioana Award, an IPPY award, and Rubery Book Award. It also recently won "Best Cover" from the Wishing Shelf awards. A lifelong dog lover, I began training dogs professionally in 2003 and after moving to Ohio in 2006, I started A Positive Connection Dog Training. I retired in from training 2022, but continued with my podcast, Your Family Dog, that centers on helping families love living with dogs. I retired from podcasting in 2025, but I do have a line of cards and other items based on my drawings from a pet’s point of view and my perspective that the world should be a little more animal-centric. In addition to writing, I enjoy traveling, reading, hiking, and playing with my nine grandkids.
