Julie Fergus is a writer, former marathon runner, yoga teacher, and mother of three sons living in Northern California. Her memoir, Keeping Pace, traces the years following the sudden loss of her husband to lung cancer and the long, uneven path through grief, motherhood, and healing. For nearly a decade, Julie ran marathons as both a personal challenge and a way to keep moving through life after loss. Over the course of nine years, she pursued the goal of qualifying for the Boston Marathon, finally earning her place and running Boston in 2011. Her writing explores love, loss, resilience, and the quiet ways people learn to move forward after life changes forever. When she isn’t writing, Julie teaches Ashtanga yoga and continues to believe in the restorative power of breath, movement, community, and showing up one day at a time.
