Jude O'Reilly is the author of three page-turning action thrillers (the latest of which, Sleep When You're Dead was a Financial Times Best Book of the Year). Her crime thriller, Heartbreaker, is due to be published in May 2026. Another crime thriller, Freeze, is due out next year.

Lee Child has described her writing as 'terrific' and David Baldacci as 'a sheer delight'.

Her other two action thrillers, based around an all-action hero/ex assassin called Michael North, are Killing State and Curse the Day.

Jude is an award-winning short story writer. Some of her short stories are published in an anthology called In Our Crime.

Writing as Judith O'Reilly, she is also the author of two memoirs. The bestselling Wife in the North which was a BBC Radio 4 Book of the Week and serialised in the Sunday Times and Daily Telegraph, and A Year of Doing Good when she tried to do a good deed a day for a year. It did not make her a better person.

She is a former journalist and TV producer and lives in Durham, UK, with her family and a poodle called Joey.
