Growing up, I had two great loves: musicals and mystery novels. These interests have pretty much determined my creative output as an adult. I'm also a middle child, which may explain why I'm most comfortable surrounded by, and working with family members. I collaborate with my older sister on the Libby Seale series of historical mysteries, set in the 1890s in Portland, OR. And I've composed the scores for numerous musicals alongside my younger brother (our most notable show is "Yank!", which was an Off-Broadway hit in 2010, and has gone on to productions in London, Rio DeJaneiro, and Brisbane, not to mention Chicago, San Diego, Louisville and more; check out the cast album from PS Classics!) Musical Theatre has also begin to infiltrate my literary life; I'm co-author of the upcoming "Periodic Table of Broadway Musicals" (Fall 2025). It also plays a major role in my latest project, begin during the Covid lockdowns of 2020, a new historical mystery series where each murder takes place against the backdrop of an iconic Golden Age musical.
