I was born in Erie, PA and have lived here most of my life. I went to college at Behrend Penn State University and Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. I was an engineer and IT professional for 25 years in New England, Cleveland and Erie. I moved back to Erie in 1999 and have been here ever since. From 1999 to 2012 I owned and operated an Irish pub and a popular night club, both in downtown Erie. I became a landlord and starting purchasing rental properties in 2000. I have been a real estate investor ever since 2000. In 2004 I decided to pursue a career in Real Estate sales and became a PA licensed Real Estate Sales Agent. I worked as a Realtor for eleven years with Coldwell Banker and Marsha Marsh Real Estate. In March of 2016 I obtained my Real Estate Broker license and opened my own Real Estate brokerage, Joe Herbert Realty. I hold real estate certifications as a Certified Residential Specialist, Certified Commercial Investment Member and Short Sale and Foreclosure Resource. I am a current member and past President of the Rotary Club of Erie. I am a current member and past board member of the Northwest Pennsylvania Apartment Owner’s Association.
