Jonathan Azzarello is a writer, worship pastor, and storyteller exploring faith, worship, and who we become under pressure. His work spans Christian nonfiction, poetic reflections on worship and song, and fantasy fiction shaped by Christian allegory. He is the author of You Are What You Worship, The Greatest Worship Leader, When We Sing, and the Patala Races fantasy series—books that explore identity, devotion, power, and the quiet, costly work of faithfulness. Jonathan serves as a worship pastor at Mercy Hill Church in North Carolina, where he has spent over fifteen years leading worship and walking with leaders through the tensions of calling, excellence, exhaustion, and grace. That lived experience deeply shapes both his writing and his work with worship leaders. He lives in Winston-Salem with his wife Rachel and their six children. Whether writing stories or serving the church, his hope is to point people toward a faith that is rooted in love, honest about struggle, and shaped over time—not by performance, but by presence.
