Jon Imparato is an award-winning writer, producer, and LGBTQ+ advocate whose work has helped shape queer arts and culture for more than twenty-five years.

As Artistic Director of the Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Center at the Los Angeles LGBT Center, Jon produced more than 350 events and collaborated with artists including Liza Minnelli, Jane Fonda, Billy Porter, Laverne Cox, Shirley MacLaine, and many others. His productions received nearly 200 awards, including multiple Ovation Awards and the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award for Sustained Excellence in Theatre. In 2020, he received the LA Stage Alliance Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to the arts.

Beyond the stage, Jon spent a decade working with homeless LGBTQ+ youth and helped launch one of the largest LGBTQ+ drop-in centers for homeless youth in the world.

His writing explores grief, identity, faith, resilience, and the unexpected humor that can emerge from life's most difficult moments. His memoir, The Good Inside the Grief, continues his lifelong commitment to telling stories that honor loss, celebrate community, and reveal the possibility of hope.

Jon lives in Los Angeles and continues to write, speak, and advocate for the power of storytelling to create connection and change.
