Jon Broderick (1937 - ) My first attempt at writing was met with a rude rejection from a former friend who was a publisher. I decided to learn more about the process and went back to college at age 73 and received a Master of Fine Arts Degree in 2011. Now, at age 88 with 15 books published, I have a series winner and a partner. FIVE MILES DEEP (Hawes & Jenkins Kindle Edition) is a trilogy of three novels combined in one book outlining "The Saga of Marina Victoria." It is an underwater, shark filled, political and drama filled adventure with the first story based on the island of Puerto Rico. The second story (Tiger Shark Terror) is based on the eastern coast of Brazil and focuses on just how far corruption can mess up an entire country, including the population above and below the water. The heroine is Marina Victoria, whose celestial heritage evolves deep into American politics by marrying a former CIA Agent and becoming the God Daughter of a sitting President. The third book in the Trilogy features Marina moving to Southeast Alaska to accompany her husband in later life on his new job as superintendent of schools in Gateway Borough near Ketchikan. Her marine influence over creatures under the sea extend to other Alaskan wildlife as she encounters a crime against the dead native Alaskans of monumental proportions. Marina also discovers an orphaned girl (Joni) in the village where the Natives worship a Totem Pole figure who was Joni's mother, and Marina Victoria's long, lost twin sister. Joni Maria Judd and I co-author the fourth story in the Marina Victoria series, TWENTY TONS OF TERROR, (Lemon Press Publishing) where a giant prehistoric shark (Megalodon) terrorizes Southwest Florida where Joni has lived for the 50 years or more I have known her.
