John Walker Lee was born at a very young age in a small African town and started writing the day he turned 12. He received a lot of encouragement from his teachers, spurring him to write his first short story at age 16, titled "My Secret Family". The internet hadn't been invented yet, so while he waited he spent his lunch money creating hand-made books to entertain his friends. My Secret Family became a notorious hit, and his work soon spread. John continued to write books, and after a brief detour working as a data scientist for a technology company, continued his true calling – writing books about the human condition. Merging psychology and news articles, John soon wove a set of tales ranging from psychology to fintech, fantasy, magic, military thrillers, and spy novels, all woven together with a thread of reality from real events. John is a method writer, and sometimes works with actors to act out scenes and talk about their experiences. The lives of other people play a huge part in John's work. John continues to write in his small seaside town of BlueBurg in South Africa, where he lives alone but for a few occasional cats and a large pot of tea.
