John Starke grew up in the Midwest but has lived in Arizona, South Carolina, Kentucky, and now lives in New York City with his wife Jena and their four children. He pastors Apostles Church Uptown in Manhattan. He's written for Christianity Today, Books & Culture, Comment Magazine, and others. He has written "The Possibility of Prayer: Finding Stillness with God in a Restless World" (IVP), co-edited "One God in Three Persons: Unity of Essence, Distinction of Persons, Implications for Life" (Crossway), and has contributed chapters to "Our Secular Age: Ten Years of Reading and Applying Charles Taylor" (TGC) and "Faithful Endurance: The Joy of Shepherding People for a Lifetime" (Crossway).
