John T. Salzwedel is a husband, father, grandfather, mentor and friend. He worked in the insurance industry for more than 25 years. He has served in leadership positions in both non-profit and for-profit organizations. Shortly after his fiftieth birthday, he felt the pull of a different purpose. He now spends his time working with people on finding hope in their lives. John spent 14 months as part of a Christian Music Ministry Team called New Vision which travelled throughout the United States, Australia and Papua New Guinea. It was on this mission that John got to meet and learn from many people in many cultures. He considers it one of the greatest all-around experiences in his life. John was trained and certified by the John Maxwell Team and the Dave Ramsey Organization to be a life coach, speaker, and personal finance coach. He is a Toastmasters award-winning speaker, has earned a bachelor’s degree in business, and a master’s degree in management. He has served in many roles at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Kentwood, Michigan. When he isn’t working you might find John in his woodshop, collecting coins, volunteering with Ottawa County Emergency Services, teaching his dog, Dapple tricks and agility, or exploring the outdoors. John has two children and two grandchildren by blood and many more of each by “life.” He was born in Columbus, Wisconsin, and now lives in West Michigan with his wife, Susan and their two dogs, Dapple and Emmett.
