Havens (johnchavens.com) is Founder of The H(app)athon Project (www.happathon.com), a non-profit organization, "Connecting Happiness to Action" by creating sensor-based smartphone surveys utilizing economic indicators to increase civic engagement and wellbeing. John's current work is focusing on how emerging media (Quantified Self, The Internet of Things, Augmented Reality, Big Data, Affective Computing) intersects with the science of wellbeing (positive psychology and the economics of Happiness Indicators like Bhutan's Gross National Happiness). John is a professional speaker, a contributing writer for Mashable, The Guardian, and the Huffington Post. He was a former EVP at a Top Ten Global PR firm where he counseled clients like Gillette, HP, Merck and Monster on how best to utilize social and emerging media to build ROI and customer engagement. John was a professional actor in NYC for over 15 years, with principal roles on Broadway, TV, and film. He plays blues guitar and harmonica, and is the proud father of two amazing kids.
