Jörg Zittlau studied philosophy, biology and sports in Düsseldorf, Germany. After several years of teaching and research, he became an author and journalist. His credo: only write when you have understood - even if it takes longer. He wrote over 60 books, which in total were translated into 20 languages. "Your brain knows more than you think" (with Niels Birbaumer) was elected Science Book of the Year 2015. In 2022, Zittlau received the Journalist Award of the German Heart Foundation.
