JOE AUGUSTYN spent two decades working as a screenwriter and producer in Hollywood, where he created the horror film franchise NIGHT OF THE DEMONS. He returned to his birthplace of Philadelphia, whose atmosphere he finds more conducive to writing, and shifted his focus to writing novels and non-fiction books. A fan of all things spooky and strange, Joe was raised on family ghost stories going back several generations. An unreconstructed bohemian eccentric, he's a nocturnal creature who keeps vampire hours, has owned motorcycles for most of his life and is a huge fan of the feline species. Currently a bachelor, he shares a 100-year-old house with a semi-wild rescue cat named Buster and occasional visitors that go bump in the night.
