I began my career as an English teacher and moved on to a long career working in various capacities with children with special educational needs, particularly those with challenging behaviour. I also travelled extensively and began to write blogs for a charity I was involved in to raise finds for research into Crohn's Disease. In 2002, I decided to gather the experiences of people during lockdown that I had met around the world on my travels. This resulted in my first book, Lockdown Stories. In 2005 my second book was published, Gutsy Travels. Travelling the World with my Invisible Friend. In this book, I share my adventures to some of the most remote corners of the world, while facing the added challenge of living with Crohn's Disease. It is also available as an audiobook.
