Jo Tuscano is a Sydney author, editor, teacher and mentor. Jo's novel, The River Child, was published in 2022 by Odyssey Books. Her co-authored non-fiction life story, Back on the Block, was published in 2009 by ASP (AIATSIS). Her new book, This is Where You Have to Go, is coming soon from Pantera Press. Her non-fiction book, With What I Have Left, is coming this year from New Holland Press. Jo works as a content creator for an educational organisation that uses a fusion of Western and Aboriginal pedagogy (the 8 Ways of Learning) to create programs that empower students and spark creativity and critical thinking. Jo has been published in the Sydney Morning Herald, Spineless Wonders, Stringybark Press, the New England Review, Overland Journal, Newswrite, The City Hub, the NSW History Teachers’ Association Journal, and various other media. She has been a presenter on indigenous issues, particularly about the Kinchela Boys Home and issues regarding youth justice in the Northern Territory. She has appeared on Stateline and ABC Radio and has been a guest speaker for Reconciliation for Western Sydney.
