Jo Grix was born in a small, East Texas town and spent a good many summer days at her grandparents’ bay house outside of Palacios, Texas not far from the imagined location of Widdendreams Island. She began writing at the age of twelve, and has yet to stop. When she isn’t writing, Jo can be found reading, designing t-shirts or creating digital art, not unlike the cover of this book. Although currently “gainfully employed”, Jo’s life plan revolves around writing books and owning a book store/coffee shop not unlike Widdershins Book. Although she’ll probably wear shoes and not nail polish. The idea of writing a mystery story popped into her mind days ahead of the inauguration of the Office of Letters and Lights’ Camp NaNoWriMo July session, and A Killer Best Friend was her 50,000 words in 31 days challenge.
