Jide Adeoye didn’t set out to become a DEI leader. He set out to build a career in data and business intelligence—and he did, rising to Director of Business Intelligence at goeasy over 16 years in the field. But when George Floyd was murdered in May 2020, staying silent felt like complicity. So Jide made a phone call. Then another. Then a hundred more. What started as a conversation became the Afro-Canadian Development and Empowerment (ADE) Committee—one of goeasy’s first Employee Resource Groups and a model for how Black-led initiatives can reshape corporate culture from the inside out. As founding chair of ADE, Jide has led the design and implementation of programs that have directly contributed to increased Black representation in leadership, improved sponsorship pathways, and a culture where employees no longer have to choose between authenticity and advancement. Jide’s expertise in systems design, data architecture, and business intelligence informs his approach to DEI: he doesn’t just advocate for change—he structures it. He builds frameworks, measures outcomes, and proves that inclusion isn’t just the right thing to do—it’s a strategic advantage. Beyond goeasy, Jide serves on the board of Support Black Charities and is a sought-after speaker at conferences on data intelligence, leadership, and equity. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Economics and Political Science from the University of Toronto. Outside of work, Jide is an award-winning Gospel recording artist, celebrated for his contributions to faith-based music. He lives in the Greater Toronto Area with his wife Ovalyn and their three children: Dara, Ibukun, and Tomi.
