Jessica Spotswood writes lush, haunting historical fiction. She is the internationally bestselling author of the historical fantasy trilogy The Cahill Witch Chronicles and the contemporary novels Wild Swans and The Last Summer of the Garrett Girls. She is the editor of the feminist anthologies A Tyranny of Petticoats and The Radical Element and co-editor of Toil & Trouble. Her most recent novel is Great or Nothing, a World War II-era retelling of Little Women in which each March sister was written by a different author. Jess wrote Meg, because she loves a bossy oldest sister. Jess’s books have been included on the ALA's Rise and Rainbow lists and have been Junior Library Guild selections. She lives in Washington, DC with her husband, mystery author Stephen Spotswood, and she works for the DC Public Library as a children’s library associate. Her next novel, The Harrow Home for Wayward Girls, will come out in August from Holt.
