Jessica L. Grabel holds a master’s in public health and serves as an Assistant Vice President in Health Care, overseeing Ancillary Services in a highly respected health care system in Connecticut. She is the new author of Unseen Wounds – A Journey of Survival and Triumph over Trauma. Jessica read Elizabeth’s personal journal, written during a deeply traumatic period in her life. After speaking with several close friends who work as therapists and others who have been subjected to emotional abuse, she felt compelled to tell Elizabeth’s story. The details in the journal, and the sheer fear it conveyed, felt so real, and Jessica believed her story needed to be heard, hoping it would encourage people to seek therapy, find strength, and rebuild, no matter how fearful the situation may be. She lives in Old Saybrook, Connecticut, with her two cats, Rascal and Riley, and her husband, Deron. She has two children and loves spending time with her family and friends, traveling, exploring new places, and advocating for self-care and peace within her circle of life.
