Jerrold McGrath is a cultural programmer, researcher, and writer based in Toronto. For eighteen years he has made residencies, festivals, national consultations, and multi-day encounters that place people inside artificial intelligence, ecological damage, and political uncertainty rather than in front of descriptions of them.

Work has been presented at Hebbel am Ufer in Berlin, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and SÍM Reykjavík, with commissions and partnerships across four continents. He founded UKAI Projects in 2017 and was Executive Director of the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre from 2025 to 2026. He writes every second week at Poor Footing.

His writing has appeared in Quartz and the Huffington Post, in academic publications, including Springer's The Future of Education and Labor and Elgar's Handbook of Community Development, and elsewhere (Holo, Goethe-Institut, TwentyThirty).
