Jeremy Armstrong is Professor of Ancient History at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. He earned his BA from the University of New Mexico and his MLitt and PhD from the University of St Andrews. His primary research areas are archaic Italy and early Rome, as well as the army of the Roman Republic. He is the author/editor of ten books and many chapters and articles.
