Jeff Seats spent much of his career as a scenic designer and art director, using wood, canvas, paint, and a fair amount of imagination to help bring other people's stories to life.

These days, he builds his worlds with words. His Monster Keeper Series—Vamp Town, Blood City, and Last Rites—mixes horror, suspense, dark humor, and the occasional monster with the unfortunate humans whose job it is to keep them under control.

The tools may have changed, but the job hasn't: build the world, set the stage, and let the story loose. The reader gets the best seat in the house.
