Jay Gallentine is an award-winning space historian from Minnesota. To date he has authored the following: "Ambassadors from Earth" (Nebraska, 2009), surveying the beginnings of lunar & planetary exploration with a focus on James Van Allen and the University of Iowa, plus the Voyager Grand Tour. Winner of the Eugene M. Emme Award for astronautical literature. "Infinity Beckoned" (Nebraska, 2015), examining the first intensive reconnaissance of the inner solar system, with a focus on the Soviet Lunokhod moon rovers as well as the American Viking Mars life-detection tests. "Born to Explore" (Nebraska, 2025) profiling the life of legendary NASA personality John Casani in conjunction with the problem-plagued Galileo mission to Jupiter.
