Dr. Jay DiPrima (1956 - ) was born in Lunenburg, MA. He attended and taught at Lunenburg High until he was converted to the "gospel" of educational theatre. He toured for many years with an educational theatre troupe - the Guild Players, taught theatre and history at several public schools, completed his Masters in Creative Arts and his doctorate from NYU in educational theatre. His published dissertation explored the history and critical response to solo performance on Broadway stages. His published works that use dramatic monologues - Middle School Moments and Beauport Anthology, were written during his tenure as teacher of the Gloucester Public Schools. His life long passion has been to bring history to life whether through writing, performing, directing or producing. Other registered and commissioned works include: "Needham Neverending," "His Majesty's Hotel" (Gandhi's early life), "HD Thoreau Lyceum Lecturer," "Mingling Souls: From Sorrow to Joy," (The lives and writings of Universalism's Founders - Rev. John & Judith Sargent Murray). Dr. DiPrima also teaches graduate courses in arts integration at Endicott College and Fitchburg State University.
