Dr Jane Wilson-Howarth's passion for wildlife started when she was a toddler - with creepy-crawlies - and evolved into experiments in taxidermy with roadkill. Jane bagged a zoology degree in Plymouth before setting out overland to Nepal. That seeded a passion to work towards improving the lot of the poor. After qualifying as a parasitologist (Oxford University Masters) and as a physician (BM Southampton) she spent 15 years working on various child survival projects in remote corners of Asia. During her decade in Nepal she helped set up aid to communities hit by disastrous flooding. She has loved aquatic activities since her early childhood and a few years ago swam across a Norwegian fjord. When in Cambridgeshire where she worked as a GP, she speaks at travel shows, schools and universities. She writes extensively on travel and health for British national newspapers (Independent, Guardian) and other national and international publications. She has written over 200 health features for Wanderlust travel magazine. Her author website is www.wilson-howarth.com. Her travel health guides have sold in tens of thousands. Jane’s "Snowfed Waters" is a fictional sequel to "A Glimpse of Eternal Snows". She has also published three adventure stories for children set in Nepal. These as well as "Glimpse" are now available as audiobooks, read by the author.
